Mississippi Hippie

Tonight is a cozy night. Grandma Amy came to visit, and we enjoyed some lovely homemade chicken and dumpling soup for dinner. Bennett is snoozing away in his crib. Even the pets are quiet, cuddled up in their designated blanket-covered areas.

To round out the evening, Nic is watching a super combination of TV shows. He is diligently flipping back and forth between professional bull-riding and the Bourne Ultimatum. One of the bulls is named Mississippi Hippie. Nice name for a bull, if you ask me. And I've noticed that Jason Bourne hardly ever smiles. But I suppose he doesn't have much to smile about.

Bennett, however, has plenty of reasons to smile. He's such a happy little guy. This picture totally looks like a school photo. He's ready for math class, or something!

He talks to the dog.

Bennett has developed a new interest. He likes to use his awesome rolling skills to get onto his tummy, and he props himself up just right, so he can get a good look at Suggie Boogie. And then he talks to her. Coos and goos and squeals of delight. I'm pretty sure Sugar knows exactly what he's saying.

Sugar takes her job as "the great baby protector" rather seriously. Don't mess with the Frenchie.

Go, Bennett, Go!

Might as well jump right in to the cuteness. I watched this about thirty times while I was sitting at work waiting quite impatiently for 5:30 to arrive so I could scurry back to my car and battle the rush hour craziness to get home to my favorite boy.

This week marks his first real roll-over, and we're loving it.
